Hello everybody,
It's been one week and we find ourselves back doing some of the same things. Anyways for you people in America, you watched conference a whole week ago, but for those of us on time delay we didn't get it until this past week. So there will probably be references to talks and stuff. Anyways, let's begin . . . Monday ~ So we had p-day and stuff. Had a district activity and hung out with everybody. Then we did some shopping and cleaning up the apartment and emailed everybody. Then we went home to prepare to go out for the night. We did some record work and found a pretty promising record so we decided to go check it out and talk to people on the way there. No one was too promising from the street and when we knocked on the old investigator's door that wasn't very good either. We were pretty sure he was home, but ignoring us. It's all good. But that was our night. Tuesday ~ We had weekly planning because there would be no other time to do it during the week. So that was fun. We then went looking for an investigator that seemed to have disappeared, but we will find him sooner or later. After that we taught an investigator who has stopped progressing and it is kind of hard to teach him. He has learned all the lessons and likes them but is unwilling to ask to have Sunday's off, so he can come to church. Then we went to our recent convert’s house and taught a lesson. Kind of frustrating, because he seems to be content where he is at and we are trying to get him in gear and start moving again. Anyways, sometimes I feel some of the children of God could use a swift kick in the bum so they will start moving but the Lord doesn't work that way, most of the time. Anyways, we did some street contacting on the way home with not much success, and that was the day. Wednesday ~ So we went in the morning to Gokiso to meet the Elders to do a Kokan (exchange). On the way back we made a stop at the recent converts house to teach him again as he requested to be visited. Still trying to kick him to gear and it seems to be slowly, ever so slowly getting to him. Some things take time when I wish they would just go poof and change but that's not how God weeks all the time, so that's how it goes. But other than that it was a good lesson and then we went to go hunting for an investigator who had gone on vacation and we had lost contact. Anyways we found him and it was awesome. Taught about the Book of Mormon and gave him one. We even set up a next appointment for later in the week so more on that later. Then we had Eikaiwa, which is always fun. And that was the end of the night Thursday ~ It was still raining this morning and it continued all day. So after morning studies we went to Nagoya Train Station to end the Kokan (exchange). We all ate together, and then we went from the station to Yokkaichi, where the zone leaders are at, for the next Kokan (exchange) on the list. So while on the train I was talking to the zone leader and explained all we had to get done. It was quite a day planned and it started by again visiting the recent convert and explaining how the gospel is supposed to help us improve our lives and make us better people. It was pretty good. Then we went home dropped the Elder's stuff off and then headed out. We were headed to visit a less active and an investigator, but sometimes things happen. Like my tire got a puncture and I patched it but it still wasn't holding any air. So we went to a bike shop to see what the problem was and apparently there was another puncture that we didn't find and they took care of it and I bought some more patches. But because of all the time that that took we only had time to go meet the ward mission leader for DCS (Ward Mission Correlation) and report our efforts. And that was our night. Friday ~ So we had district meeting in the morning and that was, as always, a fun time. After that, we went out to lunch and headed back to our area. Then we went home and dropped off my companions stuff and went looking for more people. Later we returned to change and head out to play soccer. Man I love sports they are such an easy ice breaker. It opens people up really nicely. We got some people to come to Eikaiwa and listen to what we do as missionaries. And that was our day. Saturday ~ We watched General Conference and it was awesome. We even got some people to come to some sessions on this day. It was so good. But that was our entire day. Sunday ~ Again, we watched General Conference until late afternoon and it was awesome. We had a lesson with Jeff in the middle of sessions and he is progressing nicely towards baptism. Then after the sessions we went and taught the investigator we gave the Book of Mormon to. From there we visited two member families. After that we decided that food would be a good idea, since neither of us had eaten since breakfast and it was almost 8 PM. Yeah, I should have just fasted but you know sometimes that's how it roles. And that wraps up the week. And at the close of my conference weekend I would like to reiterate Elder Holland. Keep going, keep improving and keep pressing forward. There are always things for us to improve in and we can always improve and conference is meant to show us ways to improve and help our lives. It isn't meant to tear us down. Sometimes it may seem impossible but nothing is impossible for God so why should we doubt? Why should we fear? That's fit we shouldn't fear. Keep going people. Always remember who's on your side. Love, Elder Williams 愛、 ウィリアムズ長老
